Let’s start at the beginning.  What is SEO?  SEO technically stands for Search Engine Optimization and it is the process of increasing the visibility of a website in a search engine’s natural or “unpaid” ranking.  You have likely heard the phrase – “First Page of Google.”  That is what SEO aims for is to have a website visible on the first page of a search engine’s site when a consumer searches for a particular word or phrase.

Let’s go through a few other acronyms that you will commonly see.  In future blogs we will discuss the definitions of each of these terms and how they apply to website marketing.

B2C – Business to Customer

CPC – Cost Per Click

CTR – Click Through Rate

CPL – Cost Per Lead

CPV or CPW – Cost per View

IM – Internet Marketing

IBL – Inbound Link

OBL – Outbound Link

PPC – Pay Per Click

SMM – Social Media Marketing

SMO – Social Media Optimization

UX – User Experience
